I am pumped that we are celebrating our 100th episode of The Thrive Forward podcast. Our first podcast episode aired August 26, of 2020 and it is now July of 2022. During this time, we have covered a variety of topics ranging from personal to professional as well as abstract to complex financial topics. I have sat down with countless leaders across many fields, all of them demonstrating the reality that money touches every aspect of your life.
As we take a trip down memory lane, I’m highlighting some of my personal favorites!
Episode 1 / Why Thrive Forward?
This episode kicked it off and we talked about the mission of the podcast. In addition, my passion around closing the equity gap; the impacts of that equity gap to our greater community; and how we can create change in a positive and sustainable way. Creating this podcast was a way for me to be able to provide accessible resources that are free to the general public.
Episode 37 / The Psychology of Money: How to Stop Chasing Status and Start Building Wealth
At Forethought Planning, we believe in the power of understanding our behaviors and the impact they have on our financial wellness. In this episode, our featured guest was Dr. Alex Melkumian, founder of the Financial Psychology Center. We discussed how we build on having what sometimes feels uncomfortable – conversations about our finances. Particularly with the individuals closest to us and how to establish healthy communication.
Episode 23 / How to Conquer Your 5K Resolution While Also Strengthening Your Body, Spirit, and Mind
I interviewed my friend and mindset/movement coach JC Lippold. People come into our lives for long periods of time and brief breaths – yet we can offer so much meaning to each other through those interactions. This was a popular episode with our listeners as JC shared how changing the narrative we speak to ourselves can be the biggest game changer. How to go from “I am not” to “I am.”
Episodes 62/ How to Align Your Values with Your Investments: Sustainable Investing 101
Episode 63 / Making Your Ownership Count
Episode 64 / Shattering Sustainable Investing Myths
Episode 65 / Resources to Help You Live a Sustainable Lifestyle
A core value at Forethought Planning is sustainability. Environmental, social, and governance are how we break sustainability down from an investment standpoint. Investing with things that are close to our heart, values, and ethics. How are we impacting our planet? How are we being innovative with those processes? We know that truly living sustainably isn’t just about doing one thing, but it is about making a change in our overall lifestyle.
Episode 82 / How to Talk with Your Kids about Money
Being a mom is one of my most honored titles. This episode was fun for me as I gave the microphone over to my kids to ask me questions about my job, questions about money, and questions about what does money mean to them? And what should they be doing with their money when it comes to buying, spending, saving, giving, and investing? What do all those things mean to a seven and eight-year-old?
Episode 78 / How to Define and Rewrite Your Money Story
Our money behaviors start with the story we tell ourselves from an early age. We do have to power to redefine and rewrite our stories with money in order to better serve our greater financial plan, dreams, and desires. On this episode, we welcomed wealth and money coach, author and podcast producer, Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, aka KBK.
Episode 6 / Curating Your Life
My dear friend Giselle Ugarte joined me on this episode to talk about how to curate your life. She shared an incredible story about perseverance and following your vision. This was such a great conversation! Giselle is authentic and true to her audience and those she engages with. She wants all that she encounters to feel empowered.
Episode 81 / How to Have a Conversation With Your Partner About Money
If you have a significant person in your life that you are romantically involved with, maybe it’s your hubby, maybe it’s your wife, maybe it’s your partner, or maybe it’s the person that you just adore and have spent your life with. But if something happened, you’ll have that person’s back financially. So how do you talk to them about money? On this episode we spent a lot of time talking about this topic and provide some action items.
Episode 83 / What to do When Senior Care Becomes Your Responsibility
As you know we talk about caregiving a lot. It hits close to home for me. On this episode we talk about what do you do when senior care becomes your level of responsibility and introducing you to the sandwich generation which I have happened to be a double stuffed sandwich generation, which means I’m taking care of my kids, my parents, and my grandparents? And how do you do that? How do you still take care of yourself?
I could continue to list so many more great episodes but better yet … why don’t you take a listen? There are 100 episodes of great content to start binging on!
